Hua
Hin, Thailand’s first beach
resort, was made famous by
Bangkok’s aristocracy during the
early 1920’s and is now a major
international destination resort with
brand named hotels and beach
resorts.
This once sleepy fishing town
still holds its charm, and
“Thai” style identity, but now
has a 'modern' edge.

 |
With
easy access to and from Bangkok by
road, air or train Hua Hin's popularity has
increased in the past few
years. There
is now a large community of ex-pats
who stay full-time or for extended
holidays, finding a safe
environment and cheap cost of
living. As most good international
resorts, Hua Hin caters to
foreign tastes and there are many
European style shops including
bakers, delicatessens and butchers.

 |
Food:
Hua
Hin is famed for its cuisine and
Night Market area which offers fine
seafood and Thai food at local
prices. Popular with the locals,
Hua Hin is at its busiest on
weekends, and bank holidays. Nearer
to the beach are to be found the
more international flavoured
restaurants and bars. |
 |
Shopping:
The
day market, open every day offers
fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and
fish. Shops in the same area
offer household goods and other
groceries. THe Grand Plaza has a
weekend market handy for cheap
clothes and soft
furnishings.
Hua
Hin shopping Mall is the biggest
super market in town at the moment,
but opening shortly will be a huge
multiplex of cinema, shops and
leisure facilities.

 |
Golf:
You
are spoilt for choice with the
standard of golf courses in this
area. Play a different course
every day of the week, the furthest
only an hour's drive from Hua Hin
town. Green fees average 46
Euro.

 |
The
Beach:
The
beach in Hua Hin is clean and offers horse
riding, kite boarding, jet ski and
boat hire for those not content to
while away the time in a deck
chair. The beach restaurants
offer fine, simple food and
drinks. A short drive out of
Hua Hin you will find the quieter
beaches of Suanson and Khao Tao.
|
 |
Surrounding
Hua Hin:
The National parks
of Sam Roi Yod and Kaeng Krachan
are nearby for those who enjoy
wildlife spotting or bird watching. Pa La U
waterfall is a great day's hike and
is only an hour drive from Hua Hin.
Further south at Khao Taluk or
Chumphon there are great dive sites
with good coral and a multitude of
tropical fish. Contact
us for details of sightseeing
tours that can be taken from Hua
Hin.
|
 |
Education:
Hua
Hin is now able to offer an English
programme section within a Thai
school from Kinder grade to grade
8. The school is already
planning an International standard
school for sometime in the
future.
Stamford
and Webster Universities are both
based locally for children going
into further education.
